With warm weather and abundant sunshine, Australian vineyards have weather very similar to many in California. Wines here tend to be big, bold, ripe, and juicy. Although many different varietals are grown here, Shiraz is the most famous (known as Syrah in France). It produces ripe, rich, full-bodied dry red wines with a dark red/purple color and deep flavors.
